C. B.

The LDS has only filmed the Bishop's transcripts of the chapelry of Winson in the parish of Bibury for the years 1669 to 1770 - film number 417123 Item 3 - and Item 2 of the same film covers the Bibury BT's 1740 to 1749.  No information has been extracted from the films hence no batch to be found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm  See also the LDS Library catalogue.

The fact that the LDS has no film of the PR's is unusual and may mean that there are none.   This seems to be borne out by the fact that a Gloucester Record Office search for Lees shows none either but others may know better.  See http://ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk/genealogy/Search.aspx

Regards

Chas

Hello  :)

Englands past for everyone have an item on Little Faringdon:

http://www.rootschat.com/links/0ans/

The article says that the Godwins were an established family and William, Thomas, and Robert Godwin were lessees at the time when inclosure was carried out in 1788. It mentions Thomas Godwin at Church Farm until he died 1805; succeeded by his son Thomas. Also Robert Godwin at Hulse Grounds Farm suceeded by his son Cornelius.

So Robert was a family name on Jane's side too.

I'm not sure whether Little Faringdon PR are available. :-\

Joseph Godwin servant shown on the 1851 census aged 17 is my great Grandfather. He was born in Netherton Cottages in 1833 which is between Hatherop and Quenington. He is the son of George Godwin and Jane Davis who married at Hatherop in May 1833.By 1851 she had died and George was living in Coln St Aldwyns with his children Jane,Nicholas ,Emmanuel and Rebecca.

By 1861 census Robert Lees has a farm at Eyeford and Josephs sister Rebecca Godwin and her future husband William Biggs are both working there. Would be interested to find out if there is a connection to the Godwins of Little Farringdon and my Godwins. The earliest Godwin I have in my research is John Godwin born in 1752 supposedly in Whyck Rissington area.He married Elizabeth Clifford in Whyck Rissington 20/10/1776.Would be interested to hear from anyone who has connections to this line or any relations to this line Thanks
