Alnwick lookup - now Orton

I am wondering if anyone can look up a birth for me as i am researching my wife's family tree from here in Australia and have already ordered enough birth certificates for the wrong person.
I have a John William Allan born about 1843 Orton Northumberland as per 1861, 1871 and 1881 census.
There is a John William Allan born June quarter 1844 in Alnwick Northumberland and i am wondering if this is my My john William Allan. mine has parents named Thomas Allan and Mary Ann ( ? )
Any help much appreciated as usual

His baptism is recorded on the Durham Bishop's Transcripts - parents Thomas and Elizabeth Sarah.

The John William Alnwick, June 19th 1844 has parents, Elizabeth Sarah  and Thomas a grocer,Bondgate Street,

Ah, I thought I'd never heard of anywhere called Orton in these parts  but then there are some very tiny enclaves so you can never tell.

It would seem, then, that the Alnwick baptism is unlikely to be the right one.

keyboard is correct for the 1861 census In the 1871 census he was shown as a cosmaonger( whatever that is ) living with wife elizabeth and children thomas and John at 18 - 20 snow streeet Westgate, Newcastle
in the 1881 census was a provision merchant assistant living with wife Elizabeth, children Thomas, John, Jane, Alfred, elizabeth and Mary at 96 Corbridge Street, Byker, Newcastle

Costermonger?  A street salesman - usually food type things I think.  I will move this to Westmorland.   Orton is only a small place but it does have a church and the registers are on the IGI at www.familysearch.org     Kirkby Stephen is a market town with a larger community now and then.   http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/WES/KirkbyStephen/index.htm
