Where is William Skinner from?
« on: Thursday 09 December 10 18:04 GMT (UK) »
William and Ann Skinner were my GGG grandparents. They appear in the 1841 Census living in Rearsby, Leics.  I'm trying to find out more about William i.e. when and where he was born, his parents etc.

I think he was born in Leicestershire somewhere in or about 1799, but I can't find confirmation of this.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.  I live in Canada and plan on being in the UK next summer, so, pointed in the right direction, I can do some exploring when I get there.
                                                                          Thanks.......Brian

Hi Brian,

The 1851 and 1861 census say he was born Leicestershire W(h)ymondham. Would you like the full details?

 :)

Hello Tati and CaroleW:  Yes Tati, I would love to have the details, and yes, Carole, thanks to your help on the London and Middlesex forum, I've been able to establish that he is the father of Thomas, my GG grandfather.

You guys are marvellous!                                         Thanks.....Brian

They seem to then move to Rearsby and christen;
