I have printed the details and will give them to a friend who does the Dorset searches..but the research I am doing is stuck at the moment trying to resolve who Thomas Wood was and could he be the only one that I have and was born in 1799... perhaps he did marry and was a father at 18 and Captain at 25.

Looking at another thread  Dorset Wills I have located the will of Thomas Wood master of the Iris at Wiltshire and Swindon Family History centre...although available on line I will write as my printer is playing up.

I now have the will of Thomas Wood made in 1826 and he died before 1841...
he names his brothers George and William as executors and his wife Ann to recieve all..
So it confirms that the Thomas who who was captain of the Iris had brothers George and William and this makes him the one born in 1799... so married and became a captain quite young
