Hi Nibs,

Are you lost ? I thought Ulster County was in New York State.  8)

Do you mean Moses was born in the Province of Ulster in Ireland ? If this is the case it may be difficult to find him - a search of the nine counties in the Province with no more information than a name and a date of birth. Some of the problems are mentioned in this URL - http://www.proni.gov.uk/records/church.htm - Have you traced the family back to this point or is this the point at which you are starting ?

Best Wishes,   Christopher

Hello again

Moses Niblock born around 1816 to 1819 Monaghan Ireland county of Ulster. I was told from Irish web site that there was only 6 Moses Niblock in Ireland and that he was in the Birth index of Ireland and also passenger & immigration List Index 1500-1900 that is all I know.  I have researched back to him

thanks for answering

HI THERE,

I would be interested in what Irish website you accessed? I have a brick wall in my tree that I'm trying to overcome and the site you mention may be useful to me....

Thanking you in advance.

Hi Florence,

Thank you so much for responding to my question....I'm looking for my grt grt grt grandfather....John Close, labourer....appears to have been in the Belfast Antrim area, as my Grt grt grandfather James Watson Close b. 13 Aug 1844 was married at St. Anne's in 1866....have hit a real stumbling block where this fellow is concerned....Any inisight you could offer would be gratefully appreciated.

Hello Wendy,

The last message I sent to you was from the 1861 Directory of Belfast and the Province of Ulster.
The entries from the 1852 Directory may be better -
They are -
Close Brothers - Woollen Drapers, 26, High Street, Belfast
James Close, butcher,1, Hercules Street and 43, Rosemary Street, Belfast
James Close, grocer & publican, 61, Little York Street, Belfast
John Close, joiner, 10, Earl Street, Belfast
John Close, grocer, 76, Barrack Street, Belfast

Best Wishes,

Christopher

Hello Christopher,

Thank you for your response...I think I'll have to investigate John Close, joiner 10 Earl street a little further....

All the Best

Hi Wendy

Good luck with your close relatives.  I seem to have reached a brick wall with my Niblock from Ireland but will keep trying
