Cheers Nemo can't wait for it to open our new RO in Cardiff is so nice to work in  :)  I think it will be easier for us to visit too though I remember taking my then toddler son to the country park or lunch on our visits to blow the cobwebs and let off some steam

Hi Trees

Did you get round to looking up the Dovecote on Wikipedia - as that was close to the Inn you are looking for details of at Hawford

All the very best

Hi Trees

The new History Centre,Record Office etc looks a very big building & I cant wait to get into it & get my hands on some older documents that I cant access at the History Centre

You can have a look at it on the net, I saw web cameras were in use there when I was at Weston but was unable to access them the next time I went to my local library at home & havent tried since being on holiday in the county of my birth but had a look at the building each time I pass it on the bus returning from my visits to the History Centre

All the very best

Phil

ps I hope that they keep the current History Centre Staff as they are very friendly & exceedingly helpful

Have only just come across this thread, and wonder if Marston's took over from Banks's Brewery? Don't know if this helps.

Many thanks for your interest giraffe once we have consulted the RO I'll contact Marston Brewery in case they did take it over but they may not have the information on Landlords prior to their ownership

Not sure if the person looking for the information on the Hawford Inn is still looking but I live in Chatley and my father in law and mother in law used to meet in the Inn when courting. We actally own the field where the garden of the inn would of been as the main dual carriage way to worcester is right on top of where the Inn was. We also have the 1911 census for the Inn but due to ancestry having the incorrect spelling it is listed as Hanford Inn instead of Hawford Inn.

I have tried to attached the census bt it says the file is too big.

If the person whom is looking for a photograph and the Census I also have this - Please email me direct it is my main email and only myself reads it.

Many Thanks

Liam

Welcome to Roots chat Liam.
I will  e mail you later today but please take your  E mail address off the post as it could lead to spamming The mods here will remove it if you don't.We us the Personal Message system to exchange addresses etc as these are secure. (you have to have made three postings before you can use the system though)
I would love a photo of the Inn/ May pubs had a field attached to graze their clients horses and/or to grow food for the Inn I wonder if the Hawford was used in that way. I have now been to the Worcester Hive several times, but have never got round to finding more about the Inn will put it back on the to do list for our next visit. Thank you for reminding me.
