1841 Census check and question.
« on: Wednesday 13 April 05 17:05 BST (UK) »
Hi to all,
I'm only on the forums 5 minutes and already I'm looking for a favour :-[ Would someone be kind enough to check if this family exists in the 1841 census. It would clear up alot of things if they did. Cheers.

1841 Barony

Hugh Marr aged 43
Mary (m.s.Drummond) Marr- age unknown but wife in household
Hugh Marr aged 17
*Possibly also a Margaret Marr aged 15 although I can't confirm that.
Robert Marr aged 13
Janet Marr aged 11

My question is this. I suspect the head of this family to be born in 1798 to the parents John Marr (b 1772 in Barony) and Margaret Ferguson (b 1776 in Barony). I have no way of confirming this though as I cannot find a death for the head of the family and the wife in the SR death records. Can anyone suggest the best method of confirmation?

Thanks.

Looking for Hugh Marr and Mary Drummond.

I forgot to also say that this family lived in the Carlton area of the Barony Parish. The youngest child, Janet, was born on 16th January 1830 in this area. The reason I am looking to see if they are present in the 1841 census is that there is a strong suggestion they all moved to New Zealand but I have no date for this. If they are present in the 1841 census then I'll have a better idea.

Thanks.
