ah, so Annie E Moffatt is probably  "ELEANORE" from the 1921 census!!!!

ah, so Annie E Moffatt is probably  "ELEANORE" from the 1921 census!!!!

JJ, yes, it's a funny story.  During the family's immigration (emigration?) from Canada to the US, the government official handling the documents stuck Anne's first name in the middle name box, and put her middle name as the first name.  She ended up keeping it that was, and was Eleanor from then on.

adding: She was called Eleanore by her parents in Canada's census, so I'd bet to avoid confusion, although forenamed after her mother, she was called Eleanor ...
