I realise this is not the lady you are looking for.  On their page the Ryerson index has a look-up service which you can request .  As it is such an unusual surname and this person is only 5 years older I thought it may be of some help.  Perhaps the death notice of this person may refer to the person you are looking for.

Alvira SCHOENMAKERS died 19DEC2007, age 98  at Healesville
Death Notice in Herald Sun (Melbourne) 20DEC2007

www.naa.gov.au
has a digitised immigration record for (*), containing information of a personal nature. This document confirms Gerrys' Batemans Bay reference

Hi Colleen,

A Big Welcome to RootsChat  :)

RootsChat is meant for finding ancestors, rather than living relatives. I am concerned that a person born in 1926 may still be living. Of course if the lady is deceased there is no problem with your request. Perhaps you can let us know. If you are unsure we will have to proceed as if she is living.

Personal details of any people known or thought to be living will be removed, in accordance with RootsChat policy, to avoid spamming and other abuses. So people here will be able to give you general tips and hints how to proceed, but not any concrete details.

You will also find more tips here:

and

Good luck,

Kris  :)

Hi Kris
This was my very first post and I haven't a clue what I am doing.  I am sorry if I breached any guidelines.  I have no idea if the person I am enquirying about is living or passed away.
Thanks
Colleen

Welcome to Rootschat, Colleen

The White Pages phone listings show only 19 entries for that surname - none in NSW.  Perhaps a couple of phone calls.......................  :-\

The only death in NSW is for an Aleidus Albertus SCHOENMAKER (without the 's')

Thanks for you help and advice.  These are avenues I have already explored - but no luck so far.

Hi Colleen,

There are two references to Schoenmakers on the Supreme Court of Victoria - Probate Registers:
