THIS MAY BE OF INTEREST TO SOME OF YOU OUT THERE!
THIS WAS IN MY LOCAL PAPER

Since my retirement I have organised reunion visits to the Canal Zone area in Egypt.  I was called up for National Service in 1954 and was posted to Egypt working in GHQ Fayid Canal Zone then moved to Cyprus.

As a hobby, I organise return cisits tot he Fayid/Ismailia area every year.

In May and September 2011 we will be travelling to the Canal Zone taking in Cairo, Moascar, Ismailia, Tel-el-Kebir staying at a hotel on the Great Bitter Lakes, Fayid and visiting the area of Lake Tisma.

These visits are limited to 30 places (10 double and 10 singles).  We cannot cater for children but spouces and relatives are welcome.  The ages range from 40 to 80+.

During our stay there is a chance to visit the pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum to see the treasures of the Boy King, Tutankhamun.

I know that there were many people posted to Egypt during the troubles of the 1950's and if anyone is interested in joining us please contact me.  Also, if anyone would like a photograph of a loved one's grave from any of the cemereries we visit could they please sent me details.
