Hi the only census I can find John Austin on are the 1891 Census - 31 St Cuthbert Street, and 1901 Census for 21 Alma St, Abertillery.  Couldnt find the marriage either.  I have John Austin born Sept q 1860 Blaina died June q 1920 Blaina.  My mother told me he married firstly Annie P Carter and then Elizabeth Gould nee Austin Regards Trish

The only 'Annie P' linked with Salisbury and born c1863 is an Annie Patience Grant ..... and no sign of her after 1881 - no death, nor a marriage to even a Carter   :P

Strangely enough, Mort29 and Suzard, there is a marriage in Aberystwith (not Aberystruth) in 1885 Mar (11b 63) between John Austin and Annie Grant  ???

Most strange, cant tell you where the name Carter came from, but there seems to be a common link with Salisbury/Wilts, as brother to John Austin, Thomas married Rose Warren and firstly my mother said her link was Salisbury too.  Just shows you cant listen to family legends!  Thanks for all your help.  regards Trish
