David Evans, Llanegwad 1812

I'm searching for a David Evans, born about 1812 in Llanegwad area.  1841 census shows him at Morgan Cottage with wife Lettice, (nee Puntan). Married at Llangathen church in 1841.  Children: Anne (1843), Maria (1846) born at Tynewydd, Llangathen; also John (1851) born at Nantarwaunlliw, Llanegwad. David was widowed  in 1852, then married Ann Levy in 1852. By 1861 census, David (stonemason) appears at Fedwen Goch, Llanegwad with son John. Anyone have any information of David's whereabouts prior to 1841?
