Can someone pls find and quote the census details for the following Iddon family:
Robert head b.1815 Tarleton, Lancs. (worker on canals?)
Jane wife b.??? Tarleton?
Hugh son b.1853 Ulverston
Sarah dau b.1856 Barrow
+ other kids?

We do have a canal in Ulverston,maybe he was here for that reason,

I live in Dalton and think this could be your Hugh,

Ian there is a family of Iddons living beside the canal but the head is John (MASTER MARINER) and his wife Margaret Ann,

free bmd death for a Jane Iddons Barrow in Furness ,March 1882 aged 69,
I cant find her in a census though,

I have a Robert Iddon b.c.1815 Tarleton who married a Jane Turner, and spotting a likely couple in '81 census (as you have also found), I wanted to track back to confirm that they were one and the same couple.

Looks like you found the deaths of both Robert and Jane. Could you post the '71 census details and the '61.
