Hello everyone.
I am looking for information of which family this
Rowland Williams will be from. I have him as being born 1892 Llanfastog, Anglesey but no parents details. Another person has a William C Williams as a brother and that these two brothers married the same day, all I have is Dec Q 1915 Holyhead. Rowland Williams was killed in France WW1. He died on the 11th day of the 11th month 1918!! very poignant.
Next I am looking for details of where
Louisa Elizabeth Rose Clarke (known as
Rose) (my partners grandmother) will have been nursing in Wales, possibly Bangor. She lived at Oonavara, Rhosneigr, Anglesey LL64 5JD which was the home of her friend Meg possibly Margaret, it is said she was the sister to Rowland. After Meg's death she left all her effects and home, Oonavara, Rhosneigr, to Rose Clarke her lifelong friend. Meg was also a nurse.
I have a photograph of Rose Clarke in a nurses uniform, I have contacted the Red Cross, they have no details of her and the uniform is not one of theirs. There is also the possibility she worked for the Queen Alexander's Nurses, but again the uniform dosen't look like one of theirs, it is a black outfit with small white collar, long black head "veil" with a white band. How do I upload a photo onto these boards??? maybe someone could identify it??
We also know that Rose Clarke worked as a nurse on the French/Belgium border of Wimerux in WW1 nursing the troops, it is not known if this was before or after she married, again I cannot find any details for her.
If anyone can help with any details I would appreciate it greatly.
I forgot to mention that on the 1901 census I cannot decide which might be him and his family on Anglesey etc as I don't know that area at all. This is his CWGC information...
