Newman of Dromore House Mallow
« on: Friday 21 January 11 23:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for dates for Frances Dorothea Newman (nee Dring), wife of Adam Newman Esq of Dromore House, Mallow, parish of Kilshannig.  They married in 1803, and had six children (two sons four daughters).  Adam Newman died in 1859; can anyone help with the date Mrs Frances Newman died?

Thanks!

Janet

I have completed recording of headstone inscriptions at Kilshannig Cemetry and a headstone to Frances Newman of Dromore House is  there. This Frances died on 9 October 1834 but her death does not seem to be recorded in the Church Records. It appears that the headstone was erected by her husband Adam so it might be the correct one. The Newmans owned much territory in that area and the cemetry and church are in the middle of their old estate.Hope this is of benefit
