Hi Norrie - Many thanks for the extra research - at least we won't be looking through graveyards when we visit Markinch next year.  Interesting that from your two sources the names match up but the dates don't.  Family search has the best fit with our information about the younger David, who migrated to Australia in 1853.
Thanks again, Mollypip

Hi Norrie, looking for an Agnes Thomson 1856-1904, married a Joseph Henderson or Simpson. Potentially buried in North Hall Cemetery rather than St Drostan's. If you can't find her would you mind checking Auchterderran, Lochgelly or Beath? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I would like to know if there is any record in Markinch or Cupar referring toJohn Nairnwho died in the Markinch Poorhouse in July 1887.
He originally came from Cupar and was born in 1807 and married/lived with Elizabeth Petrie who subsequently died at her son Alexander's home in Greenock in 1889
