next door neighbours!!!  I did a search ages ago at Liverpool Library on line or something or other like that and they had a pamphlet written by a rabbi (sp?) about a fire in Moon street, maybe they also have some photos, i can't imagine they would just bulldoze the place and not document it somehow especially as it was still there in at least 1952 (when my great grandad died) to put up the university?

Oh, that's interesting! Thanks for this info.  The Liverpool Records Office might have some photos of Moon St, I'm going to their temporary offices next week.

The temporary office closed at the start of November as part of the move back to the main building next year.

Very interesting!  So far I have found two brothers & one sister whose name was 'Esther' for my grandfather Louis Friedman. I will contact you via your link.

Hi! I have been looking into my paternal great grandfather who was West Indian and I believe settled in Liverpool after serving in WW1. After this he became a seamen... I have him down on an incoming passenger list from Burma as living at 44 Moon Street in April 1930 so I was googling and came across your thread.

Anyway! He married a woman named Irene Ethal Freeman in 1940 and I was wondering whether there was any connection to your Freemans? He died in the late 1940s and Irene remarried another West Indian man named Cecil Harding. Irene was born about 1919 and I've been told her mother was named Amelia. on Irene's birth index record it says that her mothers maiden name is Fagent.
