It appears that Eva and Harry Jr were both born after 1909 so there wouldn't be a birth on the Vital statistics site. I looked for a marriage for Eva Cochrane in hopes that she married before 1934 but nothing showed up. I also looked for a death for her under Eva Green but the transcriptions only go to 1959 so she must have died either after 1959 or outside the province. On a previous post, I gave the dates that are available on the site if the BMD's have been registered.

The Chronicle Herald has a really good Library Acrhives that is available to the public at a fee. It is a really good resource especially when all other avenues have been exhausted.

The Canada 411 site that I gave does have surname Cochrane and Hodge/Hodges listed for Halifax so if you are able to find the names of living relatives that would be a good place to start.

When you go through the obituaries pay attention to the names of the funeral homes, cemeteries, and professions if given and that will give you another avenue to search.

good luck
Val

Hi All

I've got some updates and an obituary for Clara Cochrane from 1964 with more to follow over the next few days hopefully :-)

Mrs Clara Cochrane, 77, wife of well known musician Harry Cochrane died at her home at 6192 Duncan St, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Musgrave, NS, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas Wilson and had lived in Halifax most of her life. She was a member of the Oxford St United Church.
Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter Mrs E O Hodge, Truro, one son Harry A Cochrane, a Halifax photographer, two sisters, Mrs Louise Ross, Stellarton, and Mrs A.T.Grant, Halifax; eight grandchildren (8!!) and 2 great Grand Children. She was predeceased by one daughter, Eva.
The body is at Cruickshanks Funeral home, Robie Street, from where funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1pm, Rev R C Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

So a good start and plenty of grand children and Great Grand Children to try and find!  :)  If I'm still struggling to locate anyone after all the other obituaries arrive I'll be back! Thanks everyone though for your help :-)

Harry Cochrane had a child who was named Harry A. Cochrane. He married Jean Mitchell and together they had five children. I married one of the boys by the name of Phillip A. Cochrane. Together we had two children who therefore are the great grand children of Harry Cochrane Snr.  I would be interested in learning more about my childrens family history and may have information to share that you are not yet aware of.

Hi Everyone
I'm still looking for Eva Cochrane/Green!  :D
I have finally found a date of birth for her - she was born on 4th September 1911 in Halifax, Canada
Does this help now find her?
She married if you recall on 25th December 1935 and died definately prior to 1964
Any help appreciated in locating what happened to her
Thanks
Phil

Hi Everyone
It's been a couple of years and I'm still after finding out what became of Eva Wilson Green (nee Cochrane) born 4th September 1911 and her husband William Thomas Green born 1917 in Stratford, Ontario.
They married on 25th December 1935 at Duncan Street in Halifax, Canada
We know Eva died before 1964 but when or if Eva and William had any children is still a bit of a mystery
Any new help on finding anything on these 2 would be great if new Canadian records in anyway have become available since 2016.
Thanks and here's hoping
Phil
