Hi Cheran.  I got your email but it won't allow me to reply as this is only my second post.  I will be very annoying now and post a third time then reply to your email

I have a lot of info on John Cobbledick Tucker, son of John and Eliza (nee Cobbledick) as he is my great grandfather.

Hi Cheran

I am a descendant of Eliza Tucker (GGGrandmother). Eliza died at Bald Hills near Yankalilla, South Australia on 10/9/1862 age 43. As stated in an article in the 'Adelaide Observer' newspaper dated 20/9/1862.

"Sudden Death At Bald Hills" https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/158188880

Eliza was buried at St. Paul's, Hay Flat. An article in the 'Observer' newspaper dated 4/4/1925

I'm new to Rootschat, so I hope this helps.

Cheers, Adelaide Lady

thanks for those extra bits....

We have driven down the road where St Paul's was but sadly nothing remains  its basically farmland now!

you need to do 3 posts on Rootschat and then you can use the PM mode and if you like I can pass more of the information I have ..

Great to have another in the Cobbledick chain!

Cheran

Just got information from the Yankalilla and District historical Society.  St.Paul's site (section 1139) was not fenced off, so cattle over the years destroyed any headstones. John Cobbledick Tucker was my GGrandfather and his son John (Walter?) Tucker my grandfather. Was wondering what happened to John Cobbledick (Eliza Tucker's young brother)? Did he stay in Cornwall or made his own way to Australia?

Eliza's younger brother John I have as:-

I have the death certificate for their father William Cobbledick:-

Phillippa is buried in St Stephens Cemetery in Willunga

Two Possible Christening dates......

4 June 1797 St Teath  Father= Thomas   Mother= Mary

9 March 1797 St Teath  Father= James  Mother= Dorothy

Given the names of children to Thomas and Mary which seem to reappear with Phillipa's children, I have used the Christening date of the 4 June 1797.

James and Dorothy's children or their names do not continue in Phillipa's children

Phillipa arrived on the ship "Sir Thomas Gresham" on 19 March 1854 and is recorded as a "Housekeeper" and  as a "widow".
