You're quite right Harry although there's a vehicular entrance straight into St. K's about 100 yards down the road from the entrance to the West Nec.

I've been playing with maps again, and have marked both vehicular entrances with blue dots, and the original entrance to Lambhill with a red X.

The simplest way (I've found) is to turn off Balmore Road at the traffic lights into Skirsa Street, then take either the second or third turning to the right which both lead onto Tresta Road. The entrance to St. Kentigern's is exactly opposite the top of Fara Street (which you can't see because of the red letters!) and the Western Necropolis/Crematorium is just along the road.

wn = Western Necropolis, sk = St. Kentigern's

Hi there, just want to say I am new here and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction, how would I go about finding out a number of a buriel of someone buried in St Kentigern's.

Also, probably not the right place to ask, how do I go about finding out about Irish connections, as I have gone back as far as I can and the lady at the geneology office said that Ireland is a bit like a black hole if you don't have much information.
Thank you.

Hi Tricia,

I have just seen your post and I am willing to try and help you as I am orginally from Ireland.  You don't say what part of Ireland your relatives are from.  I will send you a PM with my email address so you can contact me directly.

All the best for now

Kieran

Hi Kieran and Tricia

Tricia, welcome to RootsChat  :)

Just for info, Tricia needs to have posted at least 2/3 times on the main boards before the private message service (PMs) is activated.

Hello MonicaL,

Thank you for your help, all help is gratefully accepted & thankyou for your warm welcome :)

I am wishing I had found this site years ago.

Hi Kieran,

As to your question, my problem is I am not 100% sure as to how to go about finding out where in Ireland I need to look, would I be able to find out when and where they moved to Glasgow from, I am thinking it might have been during the famine, vague I know.

Thank you for offering to help.

Tricia :)

Tricia, why don't you start by just posting your first family group with names and birth years etc to get the ball rolling.

Thank you Monica, although I feel I have slightly digressed on some way, my original question was asking how I would go about getting information as to where in St. Kentigern's I could find out where someone was buried, as in plot numbers etc., Thank you for any information.
