Damod, Hi, I am Jul,s72 Dad, I was born in Newtownmountkennedy and it was my grand dads address when he married Bridget Barret, you will find on line now in the National Archives the 1901 & 1911 census free access you will find in 1911 census 11 Barrett,s were living in number 6 there Patrick head of house 32 Mary wife 34 and a Michael 34 brother also 8 children there is a Patrick son, aged 10 if that is any use to you the youngest of them was Chistopher known as Christy,  whom I knew very well as he married  Lillian Clark who was Michael Clarke,s sister he married my Dads sister Julia, he died quite young as my dad did , Barretts must have been a large family as the occupants of no, 4 in 1901 census there were 6 in all and a different family possibly related. hope this is useful to you,

Patrick Barrett (senior) was my grandfather. His youngest son, Thomas (John on birth cert, 1919) was my Dad. Does anyone have a family tree I can see? I have a great photo of Patrick & his wife Mary, if anyone wants it.

Thanks dathai, Wonderful stuff,
I couldn't find the birth of my grandfather Patrick Barrett because he was really Joseph Patrick Barrett.
I'll move on to looking for his wife Mary Donoghue & her father Richard. If you have any leads on them, that would be wonderful. I think the name Donoghue is a tricky one to trace as it has many different spellings.
