*COMPLETED* Baptism of Elizabeth NEADEN
« on: Tuesday 08 February 11 03:49 GMT (UK) »
I am interested in any information about Elizabeth NEADEN. According to the IGI, she married Humphry MARSHALL in 1829 in Duffield. She is in the 1841 Census at Belper but died before the 1851 Census.

Thanks

Mark

Hello Mark,

Your Marshall Family are actually living, 1841 and 1851 at Pickard Lane, Heage, Derbyshire.
Belper is the Registration District.

I think it will be necessary for you to look at the Duffield Parish Register when Humphrey married
Elizabeth as her surname NEADEN looks a little odd, may have been transcribed incorrectly.

There is a slight possibility the surname could have been Nadin - Naden - Noden.

Wondered if you had seen these entries which relate to the family, they were having problems
in 1841 as they applied to the Board of Guardians Belper for assistance:-

Heage --- Humphrey MARSHALL 48, wife 34 Mary 11,John 9, James 8, Martha 6,
Joseph 3, Harriett 6m he is a coke burner wife has fever

ALSO
Heage --- Humphrey MARSHALL 36 wife 32 five children John 9, died last week.

The above information appears on the Wirksworth site:-

http://www.wirksworth.org.uk/Board-3.htm

John's Death appears on Free BMD Sept. Q 1841 Belper 19  271

Hope this is of assistance.
