Rodger/Johnstone

Can anyone help with the following date of marriage of Jessie Main Johnstone Rodger and James McKenzie Johnstone.

James was born in Tranent and brought up in Ormiston. I do not know where he was married as Jessie was from the West. I think the date would be around 1945-1950.

Jessie died in 1967 and James died 2002 both died in a Edinburgh hospital.

Jessie was my mother 's younger sister while James was my Dad's cousin

Hi Nancy,

Im overwhelmed by discovering a little more to my ancestors just from your few posts. You see I know nothing of my family pre-dating my mother, other than her parents names. Iv been more than curious all these years. Her mother was named Jessie Main Johnstone and died when my mother and her younger sister were teenagers and their father James McKenzie Johnstone, who died around 2002, I only learned of his existence when he passed and I attended the funeral near Ormiston?
Please help me fill in some gaps.

Hi,

On ScotlandPeoples website, there is a birth for Jessie Main Joh* Rodger, in Carmichael, Lanarkshire in 1924. So she may have had Johnstone in her name already prior to marriage, but SP limit the characters on the index, so only got "Joh". Due to 100 year rule, this is not available online, but can be ordered for usual price if required.

Thank you for your response via PM, however it wont let me reply to it.
Sorry that you don't want to discuss anything about them, I thought id possibly struck gold with someone that could fill in some blanks after all these years. Unfortunately im not in contact with any family members that can help me out. Seems like you have put in a great lot of effort with your research, good luck with the rest of it. Take care
