Scotsfind.org offline?
«
on:

I keep seeing references to this site and the great online resources it has. I have been trying to access it for a few weeks now but getting "can't find server" message. Does anyone know if they are no more, or what the problem might be?
Grateful for any info.

an internet seasrch for
scotsfind.org
brings up various hits for other sites which mention the scotsfind.org site, but no links to the site itself, so it looks as if it has gone offline.

Thanks Bob. It must have happened quite recently. Too bad, because it seemed to have an awful lot of info and databases that would be helpful.

You can find information about scotsfind.org on Whois. Apparently it is out of Vancouver, BC, Canada and hasn't been updated since 2009 (15 months). This is not a positive indicator.

That's great news Chris
It was/is a great site for Edinburgh records. Do you happen to know what has happened with the site/owners?

Great resource gone "missing"

www.scotsfind.org
seems to have disappeared.
I have used it a lot over the years and was disappointed to be told it "cannot be found" when I tried to access it on various occasions recently.
Does anyone know what has happened to it?
I'm hoping it is just being upgraded or something and will be back soon.

This has been the subject of other posts recently as you can see above (now merged with this thread). We've still not found out what happened to it.
