I too have relatives in Australia, although we never met, I think their names are Griswold.  Tom Marshall (nickname mashie) passed away in 1974. Interesting fact of the Marshall’s was that the men always seemed to have families of three, two boys and a girl and all but one in that order. My uncle, John Marshall passed away in Canada during the 1960’s, (I think as I was fairly young at the time), a result of a vehicle accident. What is your relationship to the Marshalls?

Robert fraser Marshall (Bob)  is my partner's grandfather.   Bob has 3 children all which are alive. and of which 2 are male, 1 female!
Bob's wife is alive and I spend a lot of time with her.

Then we are second cousins, once removed I would guess. I worked on the construction of the Maid of the Mist in 1973.

oh wow, grandma always said about family involved with maid of the mist and my partner went there on a visit and brought her back a teddy souvenier from there.

do you have details about their parents?

I have a tree on ancestry which gives details of bob's wife and her family.  her surname was ellis.

Elizabeth married Les Grinrod, they lived in Australia.  I just checked my tree on ancestry.co.uk
I've just realised I have loads of info on bob's parents and his grandparents who were Robert Marshall and Gracie Dunn

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat, Fraser Marshall  :)

It might be an idea to contact each other via the Personal Message service here on RootsChat (a good way to exchange personal email addresses) to progress your discussion further if you are wanting to discuss details where there may still be living people, or close relatives.

Just click on the small green scroll under either of your user names on the l/hand side. This will take you through to the PM service which works very much like all email services with an in/out box.

Good luck with your searches  :)

Monica

Hi Wedlim.  I haven't been online this site for a while and just noticed your message.

Would you like access to my tree to see if I have the same Grace as you?

I'm not finding records about but is that because they are Scottish?  I tried quite a few Scottish records sites but came up with no possible results so would love a tip on how you found the info.

This question is a bit old, but for the benefit of other researchers, I'll answer it anyway.

There is only ONE Scottish records site that has this kind of information. That is Scotland's People (SP) www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. There are NO other sites or online sources where you can view digital images of original Scottish birth, marriage and death certificates.

However you can only view births more than 100 years ago, marriages more than 75 years ago and deaths more than 50 years ago. As the births you listed were less than 100 years before the date of your posting, you would have been able to view them in the index but not to see the full details.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
