1901 Census - John O'Keefe
« on: Monday 21 February 11 21:32 GMT (UK) »
hello

I am trying to find John O'Keefe and a few of his family on the 1901 census

John O'Keefe was born abt 1883 in Whickham, Durham, England.  In 1891 he can be found in Cramlington, Northumberland, England surname showing as Keefe

He is with his  parents John b 1bt 1856 Ballyduff, Waterford, Ireland & Ellen O'Keefe b abt 1858 Whickham, Durham, England
and his siblings
His siblings are:-
Isaac O'Keefe b abt 1880 Milkwellburn, Durham, England
Mary O'Keefe b abt 1881 Dipton, Durham, England
Nicholas O'Keefe b abt 1884 Whickham, Durham, England
Isabella O'Keefe b abt 1886 Lintz, Durham, England
Edward O'Keefe b abt 1887 Seaton Burn, Northumberland, England
Patrick O'Keefe b abt 1889 Annitsford, Northumberland, England
Ellen O'Keefe b abt 1890Cramlington, Northumberland, England

When it comes to 1901 I cannot find John or the majority of his family, I have found Nicholas Okeefe and Isaac Okeefe boarding with James & Christina Turnbull    in Bedlington.

I know John was living as I have found him in 1911 as I have with his male siblings on various returns.  The Mother (Ellen) may have died by 1901 but not yet founds  death  for her as I have found a possible entry in 1911 for John snr but he is married a margaret  (marriage 14 years).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Emma

According to the baptismal registers John Keeffe's wife was Helen Batey and there is a match for the marriage in the Gateshead registration district for the year 1879.

Hi leoking

Thanks for the info.  My 2x Gt Grandmother Charlotte James married Nicholas O Keefe. He raised my Gt Grandfather John William James whose father died 3 months before he was born.
Most of the James clan are in Whickham still.
