HELP TO FIND ANCESTOR

GRANDFATHERS SISTER WAS BORN IN 1870 AND SHE WAS LEFT THE SHORES OF IRELAND BY 1900 MAYBE EARLIER.ANYBODY OUT THERE COME ACROSS A NAME  ANN JANE DOHERTY JUST KNOW SHE WENT TO AMERICA AND ALL CONTACT HAS BEEN LOST.HOPING SOME OF HER DESCENDENTS ARE ABOUT

Hei did Anne Jane Doherty come from Derry City or just somewhere in the county ?

she came from Derry City possible addresses are ferguson st,rossville st,orchard row

does your doherty ancestors have any connections to McNulty , McGaffigan / mcGavigan families. I have various Doherty's as sponsors on baptismal certificates, and witness on wedding certs, and cant find a connection to Doherty. My ancestors lived at 10 Orchard Row circa 1890 - 1900s, then at ferguson road  from approx 1910 - 1960s.

I know all the families you are talking about,i live a stones throw from ferguson st and orchard row, my own grandmother ceilia murray was born in orchard row i believe it was either 8,10, or 12 i will have to look it up. come back at me soon i believe we may have a connection too close to for comfort.Great grandfather John Doherty died in 61 ferguson st in 1904.

I still see some of the mc gavigans about and they lived at ferguson st  until approx the 1980 s

i dont have all my info to hand, but would be interested as to what the connection to doherty was. My g.g. grandparents John McGaffigan and annie McNulty lived at Orchard Row (cant remember off hand what number, possibly 9 or 10). My g.grandfather James McGaffigan / McGavigan was born there in 1883, he had a brother John who went to USA, no other info on him. My g.granfather James, lived at  47 ? Ferguson street with his wife, elizabeth murphy, think the house was sold late 1960s after her death.
