I'm sure Jenn and I have enjoyed helping. ;D

I am not able to see a marriage or death for Hilda in NSW, even using a wildcard search which does not require surname.

Sue

EDITING this post now because my searches had used father's name HARTLEY which seems to be an unclear point I now see.

EDIT AGAIN

So would you be able to tell us under what surname did HILDA go?
Her birthname or RENNARD?

dibeau,
Are you sure of the bithdate for HILDA?

Could this death in England possibly be her

She may have returned to England independently.

A consideration anyway. :-\

Hi Sue,
Thanks for more info cant believe what I have learnt in the space of a few hours.  I have Hartley and Sarah Ann Rennard on the 1911 census with a Hilda Baines Adopted daughter born 1898. Then finding them on the ship 'Waimama' (think that's the name cant quite read it) under the surname Rennard I presumed she must have taken their surname. Now reading the reply from 'Dundee' it could be possible that Hilda returned here but never got to go back to Australia. Thanks again

Hi Debra,
Wow how did they afford all that coming and going, thanks for all this info it is great to have dates.  My father always said he could remember meeting his Aunt Sarah when she came back to England but was never sure how old he was I can now tell him he would have been 23 years old . Thanks again.

Feel  a bit elated here

checking the electoral rolls

Hilda and George Philip lived at 42 Warwick Street, Punchbowl

so the adopted daughter married and had a large number of children who look like  they are still living
