James Dobbins
« on: Tuesday 08 March 11 14:47 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out more about the family of James Dobbins, born Bannockburn in 1920.  I know that his father was also James and that his mother was Jane (nee Johnston).  I believe that Jane died when her son, James, was quite young and that he and his elder brother were put into an orphanage.

Any information on James and his forebears would be much appreciated.

Thank you
Lesley

My thanks again.  As a matter of interest, do the Scotlandspeople records show cause of death?

Hi, I saw your posts and would just like to query something with you.

I saw that one of your ancestors was Hiram Dobbins.
Can I just ask if Hiram ended up in Aberlour Orphanage in Banffshire ?

Cheers, Carole

Hi Carole

I am researching the Dobbins family on behalf of a friend, and would confirm that Hiram Dobbins was at Aberlour orphanage with his brother, James.

I wonder if you know anything of their mother, Lizzie?
