Hi Sandra
Thanks for that - I knew that much.  What I am trying to do is find out what happened to hm after 1881.  In all he had 10 siblings.  I am related to Christina Crawford Forrest - his sister born two years before him in 1868

You might have known that but we are not psychic and we need to check census - as I said - back ground info for those searching.

I spent some time researching that line back in 2011 (see earlier in this thread for some of the details I found).  I've checked my records again, and see that I was never able to find out what happened to George.  As you are aware there is no obvious marriage or death on SP, certainly not in the Angus or Forfar area.  That suggests he moved out of the area, or even abroad.  There are so many George Forrests elsewhere, born around 1870, that I never pursued the search.

To a certain extent, yes.  I'm on my laptop at the moment and need to check my external hard drive for more info.

I hope Alex Milne sees this reply because I don't think I ever got back to him about it - I may have done, but it was so long ago I don't recall.

Alexander Duncan Forrest married Annabella in 1905.  Annabella had previously had a daughter out of wedlock around 1901 in Montrose - Jeannie Dakers (later married a James Wilson).

Alexander and Annabella had a son Alexander around 1909, also in Montrose.

I think I have the family on the 1911 census in Montrose.

I'm unsure whether I found out more about Alexander born around 1909.

I'll check once I attach my external drive.

Alexander Duncan Forrest m Annabella Scott Dakers on 9 June 1905, Montrose.
Alexander was born 1 June 1908, Montrose
In 1911 the family were living at 49 King Street, Montrose

Alexander D Forrest head 35 flower mill labourer b Montrose
Annabella Forrest wife 37 b Montrose
Jeannie D. Forrest daughter 9 b Montrose
Alexander Forrest son 2 b Montrose
Janet Dakers neice 1 b Glasgow

Also living at 49 King St were a different family unit:

Annabella Dakers* head 63 charwoman b Logie-Pert
David Dakers son 23 seaman (merchant service) b Montrose
George Dakers grandson 14 printer b Montrose

*(I assume this is Annabella's mother, whos name is recorded as Ann Bell on Annabella's birth, and on Annabella's parents marriage in Kincardine in 1866)

Hope this helps.

Dave
