Going back to your previous post about Alexander Forrest born about 1875.
He was born ALEXANDER DUNCAN FORREST on 14th May 1875 at 50 New Wynd, Montrose.  John Forrest and Helen Duncan were married on 26th June 1866 at Montrose.
They also had children:
MARY SINCLAIR FORREST -29 JUL 1866 Montrose, Angus, Scotland
CHARLES DUNCAN FORREST =18 FEB 1872 Montrose, Angus, Scotland
SUSAN GREIG FORREST - 16 FEB 1873 Montrose, Angus, Scotland
CHRISTINA CRAWFORD FORREST - 27 MAY 1868 Brechin, Angus, Scotland
GEORGE WHYTE FORREST - 02 APR 1870 Brechin, Angus, Scotland

I may have more for you on this but need to sign off soon.

Dave

PS - Alexander b1875 I got from SP (copy cert on my site), his siblings I got from IGI/LDS.  The siblings I need to verify but will check census records when I get a chance.

Thanks Dave for the information on Alexander FORREST. I was missing quite a lot of the detail that you provided.

Hi Alex, great, I'm pleased.
Are you stuck with anything else on the Forrests?  I might be able to help if you'd like.

Hi again Alex.
I've just found John Forrest and Helen Forrest in 1881 census with Alexander and 5 siblings.
John is recorded as being 36 and Helen 33.
Difference in names of a couple of the siblings so needs checked out a bit more.

I'm going out now but will look again later.

...and again Alex.......

John Forrest and Helen Duncan had at least 8 children, including Alexander Duncan Forrest.
There were the five siblings I mentioned previously, plus 2 others:
ANN D FORREST born circa 1878 Montrose
JOHN FORREST born circa 1880 Montrose

Of the children I mentioned before,
Charles died in 1872 (presumably at birth , certainly very young - age recorded as 0)
SUSAN died in 1876 (recorded as age 5 - but this could be transcribed incorrectly as her birth is definitely 1873)

I attach a screen print of the way I see this part of the family.  (Excuse the layout - it's straight from my site)

Thanks for all the details Dave. I had all the siblings but not some of the details on death dates and the husbands of the girls. I knew Annabella Dakers (Auntie Belle) personally as I lived in Montrose for a few years but I never met Alexander Forrest as he had died before I arrived in Montrose.

One thing I loved Alex, is that your family kept the tradition of continuing the family surnames through the middle names.  Respect!  :)

added - that also makes it a dang site easier to research!  ;D

Hi Dave

I have three Forrest families that I am related to, that immigrated to Western Australia.

It is said by some that they were not related, but these families over time in WA did eventually connect again through marraige.

There has always been whispers in my family that these families were acctually related back in Scotland.

I will list the Ancestors of these three WA families.

Helen Scott, nee McGregor Nee Forrest Born 1794 Damhill, Corehouse, Lanark
Arrived in Fremantle Western Australia 1831 with Her 2nd Husband John Robert Scott
And 3 sons Daniel McGregor, John William Scott & Robert
She was the Daughter of Mungo Forrest & Marion Anderson - Lesmahagow, Lanark

William Forrest 1819  Stonehaven, Dunottar, Kincardineshire, Scotland - married Margaret Hill
William lived in Glasgow before coming to Australia on the ship "Trusty"
Settled on the end of John Scott & Helen Forrest's farm in Bunbury "Eelup" and started a Flour Mill
Helen was midwife and delivered two of their Sons     Lord John Forrest of Bunbury    WA's first Premier
And Sir Alexander Forrest, Perth's first mayor
they were both Explorers

The other family is that of Gaven Forrest 1788 & Mary Swan    they came from Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland on the ship "Trusty" as well 1840
They Settled in Busselton WA
It has been mentioned that they were cousins to William Forrest's family but no proof as yet to this claim.
Although Gaven was ment to have been from Kincardineshire as well and worked in a Paisley or spinning mill

Hi Dave,
My husband is related to Helen Forrest b. 1793 in Lesmahagow, Lanark, daughter of Mungo Forrest b. 1765 and Marion Anderson b. 1770 also from Lanarkshire. Helen Forrest married John Robert Scott. Not sure if they are in your tree?

Cheers,
El.
