Missing Daughter~ Found
« on: Sunday 20 March 11 14:00 GMT (UK) »
Hi

This is a big ask.

From a Will i know 4 Greatgrandparents had 1 son & 3 daughters.

One daughter baptised 1770 at Cilymaenllwyd

Son baptised 1778 & daughter baptised 1772 at Llandissilio.

Would be grateful if someone could find missing daughter of

Rev David Griffith &  Anne

Thank you

Hello Omega  :)

Please can you name the children and dates/places of Christening plus the missing daughter? Do you think she would have been Christened at Cilymaenllwyd or Llandissilio, or elsewhere in Carmarthenshire/Pembrokeshire?

Kind Regards
Morgan

Hello Morgan :)

5xGreatgrandfather did`nt name the Children.

All it said,to my daughter Anne`s children,1 son & 3 daughters i leave
each £100.

From CRO search i had done.
Jane Griffith 3 Dec 1770,Cilmaenllwyd,Carms

Mary Griffith 3 Sept 1772 (3x Greatgrandmother) Llandissillio,Pembs

William 14 July 1778,Llandissillio,Pembs

These 2 i found myself at PRO when on Holiday

David died intestate,so that did`nt help.
He was buried 3 Apr 1792 at Llandissillio,Pembs.

I know Llandissillio can be hard with half being in Pembs ,the other half Carms.

I look on IGI for Mary, nothing.

David was the Vicar at Llanglydwen.

Kind Regards

David was the Vicar at Llanglydwen.

David was appointed as Rector at Llanglydwen on 9th March 1765 and was there until 16th March 1793, according to this site:

http://www.theclergydatabase.org.uk/index.html

PersonID=130061

and also shows other appointments up to 1801  :-\

Hi Morgan  :)

Thank-you for the web site.I found David. This corresponds with the Papers i have from the NLW.

I looked at the Intestate Papers again.David definitely died 1792

When at the NLW i found several bits of info regarding Indentures.
One,19th Oct 1799 mentions William ,Jane & Mary.So i assume the daughter i cant find had also died.

Kind Regards

Hi  Omega  :)

Any clues from the family names, e.g. Father's Father = maybe William, Father's Mother = Jane, Mother's Mother  = Mary. Might give a clue of the missing daughter's name? Not much help I know, but may help when looking at OPR or gravestones!

Was David married to Anne?  :-\ What year was 5xGreatgrandfather's Will made, as presumably all children were alive then. Do you think the missing daughter died in infancy?

Kind Regards
Morgan

Hi Morgan

5xGreatgrandfather`s Will is dated 19 Jan 1780.

Ann`s Mum was Ann.Her Mum was Elizabeth.Elizabeth had 2 other daughter`s Elizabeth & Mary .
All from PRO

David`s Mum was`nt on his Baptisum. ???

From an Indenture we looked at in PRO,i know David had 2 siblings William & Mary, dated 1756.It was in a poor state in parts. The Lady reckoned the Mice got hungry ???

Kind Regards
