Ok thanks for all your help. I really need to find out about my mums dad, Charles Patrick Swain born 17 th March 1902 . I'm not sure where to look ? Any help would be fantastic! Mum said he was in the army Staffordshire regiment if that's any help , thanks again Ian

He seems to have been born in Lancashire.

Births Jun 1902   
SWAIN    Charles Patrick        Fylde    8e   694

It would make sense to ask about him on the Lancs board where folk are likely to have more Lancs resources http://www.rootschat.com/forum/lancashire/
