Hi Janet, Cornelius Ryan owned land in Murroe/Abington in the 1851 Griffiths valuation. He is the only Cornelius Ryan in Abington at the time and holds two plots of land one in Mongfune and the other in Cappanouk. I grew up in Cappanouk and my parents still live there and coincidentally the plot of land Cornelius had in Mongfune is immediately to the right of my parents house and the other plot is a bit further away to the left. Also Cornelius Ryan was one of the witnesses to my great grandfather John Hayes s marriage in Murroe in 1872 to Ellen Fitzgerald. We can assume maybe that this Cornelius is the son you have listed although the guy in the Griffith Valuation may have been his father ? Also a William Kiely was a witness to the marriage of my Great great grandparents wedding in Murroe in 1851 and an Edward Kiely was the baptimal sponsor for the first child of this marriage my great grandmother Ellen Fitzgerald.
Regards
James

I wonder if any of you will see this after all these years! My gg grandmother was Bridget Ryan b abt 1838 of Pallasbeg, who married James O'Neill (prob born in St Johns parish, Limerick)  in London (1862) and then emigrated to NZ. I have her parents down as Patrick Ryan & Mary Kiely and James' parents as James O'Neill & Bridget Kennedy. Is this the same Mary Kiely, did Patrick die and then she married his brother? It sounds like we are probably related through both the Ryan & Kiely family somehow.
