Good morning All

I have just joined and this is my first posting (if i get it right).

I have just started researching James Haines (born 1861 in Chipping Campden) and wife Elizabeth (Born 1862 in Reading).  They have four children that i know of: Minnie, James, Victor and Florrie.  Minnie we believe is my husband's grandmother.

Any info would be wonderful.
Many thanks

Hi Mrs TW

I don't think it's the same line of Haines' although no doubt I'm sure if you traced further back we'd be related. There are lots of Haines' in Chipping Campden. It's probably worth using a census website to go back further - I personally use www.1901censusonline.com as it's pay as you go.  Good luck and let us know how you get on.

:) :) :)

Thanks for the suggestion.

I now have James' father and mother (James and Elizabeth both from Campden, 1832 and 1836) and they are in Leaseborne in the 1861 census.  They have five children with James being under 1 year.
Looking at 1871 census there might be 11 children in total.
I think i might be busy!

Regards
Jill   :)

Hi

I am related to Peter Haines from Chipping Camden on my mothers side. Are you still stuck with some dates?

Hi Ken, I must admit I haven't looked into this for a while, I kinda hit a brick wall (metaphorically speaking), so put it on the back burner.  If you have any information you can give me I would be eternally grateful.  My dad (John Haines) is in his 80's and would be thrilled too.  Kind regards, Rachel (nee Haines).

Peter Haines parents were John Haines and Mary Cockbill. I've gone back a further two generations. You can find the dates etc on my website www.austinfamilytree.com  If you have any other names and dates, I'd love to have them.

Hi Ken, that's interesting :) How did you manage to find out who Peter's parents were? I don't have any more information than you already have unfortunately.  Kind regards, Rachel

I have a relation in Canada who has been researching through a friend in the Records office. I added some of your information too, hope you don't mind. I have also been in contact with a Lady who says that she has traced our line through to George Washington, by marriage re the Palmer/Brill/Roads line. she has shown me the evidence, but I'm still a bit sceptical. Best of luck with your search.

Hi  :)

Peter Haines and Elizabeth Hobbins are showing up as my 4th Great grandparents and their son George Peter Haynes is my 3rd Great grandfather and it looks as if he was possibly a saddle maker. Does anyone know how many siblings George had? and what their names were? or does anyone have more information on Peter and Elizabeth Haines?
