According to the 1901 census Elizabeth was born in Manchester so possible matches in the census.

Not found Elizabeth Potter in 1881 yet

1871
Charles Potter born 1841 Manchester, Widower, occupation Labourer
John Potter born 1858 Manchester
Elizabeth Potter 1860 Manchester
Living @ no 2 court Ponds Hill Wards Yard Sheffield.

1861

Charles Potter born 1835 Blackley Lancashire, occupation Mine or Wire  Works Labourer.
Maria Potter born 1837 Blackley Lancashire.
John Potter born 1859 Collyhurst Lancashire.
Elizabeth Potter born 1860 Collyhurst Lancashire.
Living @ Goodier Street Manchester.

both were living at wombwell at the time  of thier marriage.I thought she came from manchester but did not know anything else about who her parents were,so thanks for the info.

I'm wondering if you ever found more information about the Batty family?  Jabez' sister Elizabeth is my second great grandmother. I've had real issues trying to find any information about the family and am getting quite stuck as Batty is a very common name in Yorkshire.
