Hi again Joanne
Ruth is a descendant of Henry Crowther's daughter, Amelia.
Will give you a quick run down on what we have so far on Thomas' line:
Thomas PINNINGTON's parents were Robert & Ellen nee KENYON who married on 1st June 1789 in St John's Church, Liverpool. Thomas was christened 5th Dec. 1790, same place.
Thomas married Elizabeth STRINGFELLOW (haven't been able to find the details so far) and they had the following children:
Thomas Kenyon Pinnington, born 3rd November 1811, St Peter, Liverpool & was buried 15th July 1814, same place.
Elizabeth Ann Pinnington, christened 19th June 1814, St Peter, Liverpool.
James Kenyon Pinnington, christened 23rd April 1817, St Nicholas, Liverpool.
Richard Taylor Pinnington, christened 23rd April 1820, St Peter, Liverpool.
William Pinnington, christened 22nd July 1822, St Peter, Liverpool.
Thomas Stretch Pinnington, christened 21st May 1826, St Peter, Liverpool.
Henrietta Atwood Pinnington, christened 12th June 1827, St Peter, Liverpool & buried 15th Nov 1827, St Nicholas, Liverpool.
Henry Crowther Pinnington, christened 15th November 1829, St Peter, Liverpool.
Apart from finding Thomas & his mother's deaths (and of course the Australian details of Henry's line) haven't had much luck in tracing the rest of his siblings or his mother, Elizabeth's death.

Continued.....
Thomas' occupation for the births of his first 3 children was listed as Bookkeeper, & for the remaining children as Auctioneer/Appraiser.
Also have a little info on the KENYONs & STRINGFELLOWs if you're interested.
The only 2 children of Henry Crowther that I haven't been able to track yet are Alfred & Edith so if you have any info on these, that would be great.
Once you reply to this post we can exchange email addresses (if you like) & I can attach my files for you. Have also found numerous trade directory info on Thomas Snr that I can post you copies of (once again, if you are OK with this). I can then also explain how I've come to link the first three children (when he was listed as a Bookkeeper) to the last 5 (Auctioneer/Appraiser).
Cheers
Annie

Hi Joanne
Have managed to trace both Edith & Alfred since we last made contact but would be happy to see what else you have on them.
I know what moving house is like!! Trying to find everything after the move is a pain but don't worry we'll still keep in touch & share our info once you're up & running again.

Is anyone able to give me any information for Grave Number 28 in Low Hill Cemetery.
The grave is for Betty Special who was buried 11 Jun 1831 age 73.
I would like to know if there is any other information for Grave 28.
May be there are other people buried in the grave.
I am not able to get to Liverpool but would really appreciate it if anyone is able to find any information in any cemetery records for Grave 28.
The other relatives with the surname of Special were all buried from St James, Toxteth.
I am not familiar with the churches but believe that St James may have had a grave yard.
I would welcome any information as to where these relatives would have been buried.
Any information regarding the graves of these relatives would be very much appreciated.

Abraham Special - son of Lionel Special and Elizabeth - 2 May 1792
Sarah Special - daughter of Lionel Special and Elizabeth - buried 25 Mar 1798
Elizabeth Special - wife of Lionel Special - buried 11 Apr 1800
Elizabeth Speciel - daughter of Lionel Speciel and Elizabeth - buried 8 Nov 1801 (different spelling)
Lionel Special - buried 24 Sep 1805

Thank you

Not good news I'm afraid. St. James did indeed have a graveyard, but it was partially cleared in the nineteenth century (?) when the road was widened and reburials took place in the new St. James' cemetery. This in turn was laid out as a park  and most of the gravestones buried in the 1970s. Those that remain have been resited and have been used to line paths. To my knowledge, no gravestones remain in the original  St. James' churchyard.

The above is a very brief summary.
Have a look at :
http://www.stjamescemetery.co.uk for pictures and further info.
