Blacknest Cottage DG3

Hi im wondering if anyone can help me.

A lot of my ancestors seem to have been born in Blacknest Cottage, Thornhill. DG3 5DN. It seems to be right next to the Thornhill golf club.

Unfortunately im unable to get there to have a look. Im wondering if anyone has any photoraphs of the building that they would be able to share with me, or a link to a website that can provide a photograph.

Not sure if it is the same building but a Blacknest House showing for sale here:

From the description, fits with it being next to the Thornhill golf course and the main building from the 19th C.

However, not sure what period your family were there from. It could be that there were other cottages nearby, with the Blacknest name. Hopefully someone local can help more

Thanks for your reply. I had already seen this house for sale and got excited about it, unfortunately it isnt the one im looking for. I have a map of the site and Blacknest house is a few hundred yards from the cottage(s).

I really hope someone knows the area or can help in anyway

Hi, If you still need a photo of Blacknest Cottages, I have one, taken c 2006.  As a new user I don't know how to get it to you!
