Henry Allen COLES

I'm hoping that somebody is able to help me with this one as it has baffled our family for years.

I am trying to help my cousin to trace her paternal line - we have very little to go on other than the scant details her father gave her before dying.

She wants to trace her grandfather and his line on her tree. She believes that he was called HENRY ALLEN COLES; she thinks he was born c. 1889 and died c. 1937. She does not know where.  Her grandmother was MATILDA LUETCHFORD c. 1894 - c. 1941.

Together they had a son - HENRY ALLEN COLES born in Kent in 1934 at 101 James Street, Gillingham. She is not sure whether or not her grandparents were ever married and she does know that Matilda was also married to somebody called Horatio Vincent.

Her grandfather served on RNHMS Sutton Boscowen and received an award in 1934. He was L. Sto. R17416.

Can anybody help with info or pointers on this, please?

both gave the address 26 Kendall Street (think it is a 'K')

Do you have the birth certificate from 1934. That should name the father.

The FreeBMD reg for Henry Allen in 1934 indicates his mother's maiden name as LUETCHFORD.
