Dowds/Douds
« on: Sunday 10 April 11 21:56 BST (UK) »
Hello

I am trying to trace the family of my 2x Granny.  Her name was Roseann/Rosannah Dowds born around 1835 in Derry.  She married in Glasgow in 1855 and on the certificate she gave her parents name as William Dowds and Rosa Mcguire.  She was married in the Church of Scotland.

Can anyone tell me where I can look for information or is she in your tree?.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Kathleen

Hello Janinez

I have some of the details of their time in Scotland, it is the earlier times in Ireland that I would love to know about.

As for prison, Roseann had shall we call it a 'shoe fettish'  ;D, she kept collecting them :o

many thanks for your help

Unfortunately Roseann was born long before civil registration began so you'd need to search for church records (if they exist).

Have a look at Introduction to Irish Records and My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start?.
