Hello fellow Froudians,

Nicholas Froud was my 8xgreat grandfather. My line goes via his son Joseph (?-1747) and his daughter Ann (1703-1735) who married into the Bartholomew clan.

Nicholas did not leave a will because he died intestate.

However, there are various documents dealing with his estate (to use a modern term). Crucially, they confirm his wife Martha and four children.

I received some fantastic assistance on this topic

Hi stevemiller,

Nicholas Frooude is my 7x gg.grandfather as far as I can tell. I only have 3 children (Joseph 1668-1673, Maria 1674/5 & Benjamin 1669c) He married Martha Willson 1660 in Speen and after his death in 1638 Welford, Martha then re-married to James Brownjohn in Wickham & Hoe Benham in 1677.

I don't have any papers or records for Nicholas - would you be willing to share copies with me, please?

Hi Alan, Thanks for speedy response to my post and thanks for the baptism dates for Nicholas.
Thanks also for forwarding it to Orsa who has contacted me this morning. I was puzzled about not being able to send her a PM, but now I know.
As you've probably gathered, this is my first post on the site and I'm totally unfamiliar with the protocols.
So could you  send me a response so I can reply again. Thanks

Hi David,
I see you have now posted 3 messages so you are good to be able to use the PM (Private Messaging syatem).
To use this facility all you have to do is click on a persons name in the top left hand corner of the message page, which then opens a new window in which you can send your message (PM).
