Rugeley, Colwich, Stafford baptism records - 1796 to 1807 for COLLIER
« on: Tuesday 19 April 11 01:44 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Looking for someone with access to baptism records to confirm the same William COLLIER and Susannah ? are parents for the following children :
Henry Willoughby COLLIER bpt 1796  Colwich
Walter Lewis COLLIER    bpt 1798  Rugeley
George Frederick COLLIER  bpt 1799  Rugeley
Edward John COLLIER  bpt 1800  Rugeley
Horatio COLLIER  bpt 1804  Stafford
Thomas Chichester COLLIER  bpt 1807  Stafford
Many of these names have been passed on to later generations of older sister Sarah's family.
Particularly interested in a note that may give Army rank and regiment of father as found on baptism record of two other children.

Grateful for any assistance  ...  Jim

Thanks keyboard86, appreciate the response.
The new Family Search Record Pilot Search is very good , much more specific thank goodness.
Hopefully looking for someone who can sight the actual record in case additional notes indicate Army service details, as is the case for two other children.
There is a marriage of William Collier to Susannah Watts Perkins in Norwich
in 1803, however Susannah is described as 'his wife' on the 1795 baptism record of another child. Hence the attempt to clarify the situation.
Thanks again  ... Jim

Jim if you write to Stafford Archives, they will send you print outs from the Register, costs about £3.00 for each print out.  HTH from Linell.

Thanks BumbleB - really appreciate you taking the time to help.
It confirms a note about the Windsor Forresters on an earlier child's baptism record and establishes the time William became Captain. Also that Edward John died as a baby.
I'm assuming there is no note about William's occupation on the other children's baptisms.
Very grateful  ...  Jim

Hi Jim:  no further information in the records,  you've got the entries as they were written (with perhaps the exception of my typing errors in the last entry  :-X).

george12, can you confirm if one of the elder children of William and Susanna was Charles Henry Collier born 1795 in Grantham Lincs?
