Look Up parents and siblings of William Bonear Male
« on: Wednesday 20 April 11 03:35 BST (UK) »
Male: William Bonear St Teath Cornwall around 1780.

I have parents of William Bonear Male as Christopher Male (bap around 1750) and Jane Bonear (around 1750)

I was looking to confirm a baptism/christening of William and and possible siblings,
possibly a Moses, John, and a Jane.  St Teath.

thanks for your help!

Cheran :) :)

Cheran,

I have found the following baptisms for William and Elizabeth's children

John 1801
Moses 1803
Jane 1805
Elizabeth 1807
John 1809
Elizabeth 1812
William    1814

Weird - can't find any deaths for 1st John or Elizabeth.   I wonder would deaths as still births have been recorded differently?   They don't appear as either burials or Death certs.

I can't seem to find it easily either so that's why I keep positng on Roots Chat.

Could you give me dates of the Bapstisms... I have a Nicholas as 29 December 1816 Francis about 1820.  I didn't have the 2nd Elizabeth or the William.  I am especially looking for the John date in 1809.

I have Francis with Harriet on 1841 census with father William son Nicholas aged 21 and daughter aged 2.  Francis and Nicholas are listed as quarrymen.  It seems Elizabeth is dead by then.

Yes will do

in the mean time Jane Benear baptised 25 April 1743, parents William and Elizabeth Benear of St Teath.

Can't find Christopher - and to tell the truth that is a tricky one - the name doesn't repeat at all in the family!   I tried looking under John - in case he was known by a second name - nothing seems to match though there are plenty of Johns - all with variations of Male but not Male as such.

here you go

John          9 Sept 1801
Moses      23 Jul 1803
Jane        28 April 1805
Elizabeth  14 June 1807
John        15 Oct 1809
Elizabeth  26 July 1812
William      4 Sept 1814.

I wonder if Christopher Male came from out of Cornwall - hence lack of Cornish Records?

Cheran,

I have found a Margaret in 29 April 1821 - but not to William Bonear - just  William and Elizabeth  but everything else matches.     For the record William was a farmer at Pengelly

Can't see a Nicholas there at all.   ::)   Not to any Males or variations.

Census has William as a farmer.. its not know why Nicholas  and Francis became quarryman though.  PS there is a Margaret on census aged 19 so that matches wtih them
