Blue Boar Inn St Clears*COMPLETED*

Hi
My great great great grandfather was the Inn keeper at the Blue Boar Inn in St Clears, (his son my great great grandfather was also the Inn keeper) does anyone have any  information on the Inn or know where I can find it please.

Thanks for your help omega. Have been looking on the net for information, just seem to get more modern info than heritage/history sites. Have taken your advice and written a few emails.

If you put into google (with the quotation marks):

You'll find a few pages describing the Inn's role at the beginning of the riots. Issue 13 of the 'Sancler Times' has a short article giving an explanation of the Rebecca Riots, and the Blue Boar's role.

I have just seen your post about the Blue Boar St Clears one of my ancestors a Hugh Stonehewer  lived in there in 1760s, what time frame where you looking at and what was your family surname?

I would love some photographs of the Blue Boar Inn please! do you need my email address? I didn't know the pub was still standing.. The Stonehewer family used to live there they then went on to live in The Boars Head (An old coaching Inn) in Carmarthen and Hugh Stonehewer was killed by a bull in 1801 when they practised Bull Baiting, have you heard of any reference to this, or any other information regarding the Stonehewer's when they lived In St Clears?
