Hi,

I am so sorry to disappoint but unfortunately I have lost the photo file on my old laptop, and I no longer live in Ayr.
The grave yard is locked behind two sets of gates making it difficult to gain access.

Regards

I hope you will see this as it's years after but I was digging in my family tree and have some information about the Gillon/Gillan's buried there. This is just working off what I've found through my tree, Scotlandspeople and common sense.

The Gillan/McKillan grave presumably belongs to James Gillon/Gillan and his wife Mary McKillan/McKillin. They both were born in Ireland and came to Ayrshire late 1820's. Died 1874 and 1872.

The Rae/Gillon grave presumably belongs to Mary Ann Rae and her husband Daniel Gillon/Gillan. This was his third wife. Rae abt. 1865-1932 and Daniel Gillon was 1853-1949.

The Gillan/Heney grave I presume to belong to Daniel Gillon/Gillan (son of aforementioned Daniel) and his mother Helen Heaney/Heney/Haney. Daniel 1875-1894 and Helen 1854-1883.

The Bonnar/Gillan grave I have yet to find anyone from my Gillon/Gillan tree who married a Bonnar. I'm assuming it belongs to the same family somewhere, just have not found it yet.

They are all family and the Gillon/Gillan's have mostly stayed clustered around Ayrshire, most prominently in Ayr and I've found many records from St. Margaret's. It started when James Gillon and Mary McKillan settled there after leaving Ireland. Early records from St. Margaret's spell it as Gellan, then throughout the years on following birth and death certificates it varies from Gillon and Gillan.

I hope this helps and that you see this!

Jonathan Gillon
