I am trying to find the parents of George Palin born ab 1799 in Welbourn. I have found family search refs to John Palin and Abra Hoodless as his parents but I really want to verify this. None of  the Ancestry family trees for John and Abra I have connected with have George in their lists of children so if anyone can help i would be very grateful.
Thanks mdb

Thanks for that, what I'm trying to find now is proof that my George was one of their children.

Just came across your thread.  We are distant cousins!  I am descended from your George's brother, Martin Palin.  Years ago I viewed a copy of the parish register for Welbourn LIN and found this family with 11 children.  Martin was No.6 and your George and  Joseph baptised on the same day (Twins?) were No.9 & 10.  I have mainly concentrated on Martin so far. So I would be pleased to hear from you.

Hi Gazania
Good to hear from you. George Palin was the father in law of my 2nd great grandfather. He moved to Nottingham after he married a Mary who I think was Dixon-Hoyes but am not certain. Would be good if someone could verify that for me. His daughter Lucy Elizabeth was the mother of my maternal grandfather who had the name Arthur Palin Smalley. Unfortunately he died before I was born.
