What became of Henry Tansley CROSS? COMPLETED!
« on: Thursday 12 May 11 10:54 BST (UK) »
Henry Tansley CROSS married Ethel May NEEDHAM in 1905 in NZ.

They had 2 sons:
Henry Tansley CROSS b. 1906
Roy Thomas CROSS b. 4 Jun 1907 Kaiapoi, NZ

Ethel May's second marriage was to Victor James REDFERN in 1915
I have a photo of Ethel May and her 2 sons taken in 1915
Roy Thomas CROSS changed his name to REDFERN and moved to England with his new parents in 1932

What became of Henry Tansley CROSS Senior?
And what became of his son Henry Tansley CROSS?
It's a mystery!

Any help appreciated.

 - has a record for Henry Tansley Crosse

It's a military file which has a mention in 1908 of a request for a pension by Mrs Ethel M. Cross on account of the death of her husband, although they wrote back to say she wasn't eligible.  One of the documents is a letter stating that according to Ethel, Henry Tansley Cross d. 21 January 1908, at the Manning River District Hospital, NSW.

ETA: on the NSW bmd database he's under "Crosse"
