1871 and 1861 Cambridge
« on: Tuesday 26 April 05 11:15 BST (UK) »
I have found the following in the 1881 Census:

Rebecca Crane, b.1820 Willingham Cambs.  Widow.  Resident Church Street, Willingham, Cambs.  With her is her grandson, Harry Ellwood, b.1865 in Willingham.

I am keen to find Rebecca in 1871 and 1861 if possible.  I think she may be a diplomatic widow, rather than a real one, and only finding her earlier will help.

Regards

Thanks CAZ.  She's obviously a 'real widow' and therefore not the one I am looking for.  I have a Rebecca, born 1820 in Willingham who married a Crane.  She disappears after 1851, and I was hoping she had returned to her home village under the guise of widow.

Thanks for your help in eliminating her from my research.

Regards

She was born Rebecca Samworth. Married Henry John Premmett Crane in 1843. Henry died in 1883. In 1861 she was living in Shoreditch with Henry and 5 of their children.
