Who is Elizabeth Lyall

I have just found Elizabeth Lyall on her grandfathers death certificate Scotlandpeople

I have just purchased the death certificate of William Duncan from Brechin  from Scotlandpeople and it is signed by Elizabeth Lyall granddaughter present
death 13.2.1882

 Williams daughter Jane Duncan married Charles Lyall 1859 but they did not have an daughter Elizabeth to my knowledge

Any help out there please

Um, it makes sense that Elizabeth would be the daughter of Charles and Jane. How else could she be a grandaughter of William with the surname Lyall? 

Have you traced the family through the censuses to see if there is an Elizabeth with them at any stage?

Have you checked all children born to Charles and Jane? Is there a gap where Elizabeth might fit in, but perhaps wasn't registered for some reason?

So William Duncan had daughters Jane and Mary ....
Jane married Charles Lyall and Mary married James Lyall? 
And Elizabeth is daur of Mary and James?

Now I need to see if Charles and James are brothers

Yes i have had a look at my Lyall tree
James b 15.1.1821 I have not got a wife for him so will have another look at scotlandspeople
I vowed not to spend any more money on this site

William Duncan died at 6 Clerk Street this is on the death certificate he is a widower so he was living with his daughter  ,that's where Elizabeth comes in
his death age is also 84 .

This morning I got the birth of Elizabeth Lyall born 14.7.1858 I had a look in familysearch.org and its also there so I looked there for James and Mary's marriage it is also shown in familysearch so i got that marriage too from S P but James was a widower aged 32 his father is Robert Lyall and mother Helen Taylor ,....................and Mary is right  her father is William Duncan and Mother Elspeth Sievwright . As you say you get a lot from SP .I don't think I will bother with James first marriage .
