Scatty -
Your reply is full of detailed information.   Am unable to find what you quote as the church records site - do you mean irishgenealogy.ie  - civil registrations?

I hope PollyB is still reading here and sees your great find.

From the civil registrations I could see what you found,
Birth of FLORENCE MARTIN on 28 March 1910
Group Registration ID   825819
SR District/Reg Area   Dundalk
Sex   Female
Mother's Birth Surname   COURTNEY

Also the marriage
Party 1 Name   JOSEPH MARTIN
Party 2 Name   ANNIE COURTNEY
Date of Event   03 February 1910
Group Registration ID   2012755
SR District/Reg Area   Dundalk

At irishgenealogy.ie in the civil registrations it does have the IMAGE to see the civil record and it gives Annie's father as John Courtney, deceased, blacksmith and sure seems Scatty has found PollyB's family.

Hello Catherine,
Thank you for the reply to my previous post to PollyB which I have now edited by attaching scanned images.
In answer to your query on church records here is the website to the Catholic church registers, hope it works as I am not too familiar with posting web addresses.

Regards and good luck with your family search

Scatty has sorted PollyB family, hopefully she will come back as she hasn't been here since Sept 2016.

I do wonder how you know John in Skibbereen is the son of Timothy from Castlehavan?
It sounds correct just wondered how sure you are?

Is this Bridget Courtnay Castlehavan born 1867 the same family

Some more children to that couple, (not the last one)

Which includes a John, Bridget did not come up in this group so clearly the spelling variations are causing problems.

If I understand your post correctly, your connection to this family (if I have the correct one) is to the brother of this Timothy Courtney.

Wow thank you to everyone who has taken the time to reply, especially Scatty.  That is amazing and certainly does fit with the little information I have.  Dundalk!  I'd never have found that in a million years (I suppose it does rhyme with Cork!  ;D).  I had pretty much given up with my Grandmother's line, so this has come as a lovely surprise out of the blue, and I finally have something to progress from.  I really can't thank you enough for taking the time to look and help, and especially for the copy documents, they're fantastic. Thank you again, best wishes and good luck with your own searches. xx
